What you can do
Service alerts
Gatus sends an alert when a check fails twice in a row and again when it recovers.
Job failure alerts
Backups, audits, certificate renewals, and the GeoIP update notify on failure.
Phone and browser
Use the ntfy app on Android or iOS, or keep the web app open.
Simple to send
Any script can post a message with one HTTPS request and a token.

Access
ntfy is private. Every topic denies anonymous access; only signed-in users can read alerts.
Privacy and data
Messages are kept for 24 hours on the Math7 server. For instant delivery on iOS, ntfy.sh receives only a notification that a new message exists, never its content.
Common questions
Why did I get two notifications?
One when the check failed and one when it recovered, so you know the problem is over.
Can I send my own notifications?
Yes. Ask the admin for a token with write access to a topic, then post to it from any script.
