Forgejo — Private Git hosting
Forgejo is Math7's private Git server: repositories, issues, pull requests, and a wiki per project, in a fast web interface that feels like GitHub.

Who it is for
- The Math7 owner keeping code and configuration in version control
- Projects that need issues and pull requests without a public host
- Anyone who wants a backup of important repositories under their own control
What you can do
Repositories
Create private repositories, browse files and history, and compare branches.
Issues and pull requests
Track work, review changes, and merge from the browser.
Mirrors
Mirror repositories from other Git hosts to keep an independent copy.
Light by design
Forgejo is a single Go program backed by the server's MySQL database; search indexing and CI are off to save memory.
Getting started
- 01
Open git.math7.com and sign in.
- 02
Create a repository, or mirror an existing one.
- 03
Clone over HTTPS with an access token from your user settings.
Access
Forgejo is private. Registration is closed and every page requires a sign-in. Git works over HTTPS only.
Privacy and data
Repositories are stored on the Math7 server and metadata in its MySQL database. Nothing is public unless the owner changes the site settings.
Common questions
Can I push over SSH?
No. To keep the server's open ports unchanged, Git works over HTTPS with a personal access token.
Is Forgejo related to Gitea?
Yes. Forgejo is a community fork of Gitea and keeps compatibility with its features and API.
